If you don’t have plans to be at the People’s Blues Richmond Album Release Show at The Broadberry this Saturday, May 7th – You should probably change those plans.
Not convinced? Check out Jonny Walker’s great article fro Appalachian Jamwich that says it all:
“It doesn’t matter how much money you make, how many people know your name, whether or not anybody remembers you when you’re gone; if you don’t love what you do right now, you’re doing it wrong. The only way that we can honestly and fully live our lives is to do whatever it takes to make sure that we can do what we love.
Outside of that, there are only two options: Quit or motherfucking die.”
This might be one of the best-written, most evocative reviews of a band, their show, their message, and their mission, that I’ve ever read.
It also happens to be about some of my favorite musicians, people, and friends, Nekoro, Tim, and Matthew, who are, with their powers combined – People’s Blues of Richmond. Definitely worth the read!
I found myself crying as I thought about all the times I’ve seen them struggle, fall, and together, with the help of friends, family, our amazing #RVAMusic community, and their own undying, irrepressible drive to rock out, have fun, and die living, these guys just keep getting more awesome. The new album is gonna be f*cking EPIC.
Thanks, Appalachian Jamwich and Jonny Walker for a beautiful read and some fantastic life lessons! #PBR #QuitOrDie #ilovethisband #rva #NeverEnough
