Murphy’s Kids is back in Richmond and SUPER stoked to host the album release party for “Time Dilation” at The Broadberry on July 7th, 2017. All presale tickets will come with a free download of the new album.
Recorded in the winter of 2015 at The Ward with Bryan Walthall, Time Dilation is a concept album highlighting the different ways people conceive of time, in the past, present and future.
From song to song the album consists of the sounds and styles of early 60’s Jamaica, brash punk rock of their 90’s American upbringing and less easily definied worldbeat progressive rock vibes between songs, while capturing the manic explosivity of the Murphy’s Kids live show.
Mighty Joshua and the Zion #5 are Virginia’s undisputed kings of roots reggae, pushing positive community engagement and the boundaries of just how hype a reggae show can get.
Eastern Standard Time are DC’s purveyors of the finest classic reggae, ska and rocksteady, with healthy helpings of soul, jazz and bossa. Hot off of backing the legendary Derrick Morgan at the 2017 SuperNova International Ska Festival, EST is gearing up to hit the studio to record a new album and is stoked to be bringing their firey brand of hot jamaican jazz to RVA again.
Chrome Daddy Disco are the funnest friggin band you’ve ever heard/seen in your life. RVA’s punky rockabilliy dynamos are humorous, arrogant, and at times caustic, theyve known folks to LOVE the show – and some to be REPULSED by it. Never accused of being boring, make it out early to catch an opening set by these local heros/weirdos!
Doors open at 8pm
Chrome Daddy Disco hits at 9pm sharp! WOO-HA!
