Tweed inspires and excites through music fueled by high energy performance and improvisation. Just as their namesake fabric of mingling colors and textures, Tweed has interwoven a psychedelic web of funk, rock and electronica. The band was formed at University of Delaware and now calls Philadelphia its stomping ground. Their collaboration can take listeners from multi-layered visions through the psyche to sweaty, raging dance parties driven by their own incessant beat.
“Tweed has become one of the hottest up-and-coming bands, quickly expanding their audience and repertoire… Tweed takes you on a euphoric journey through a wormhole to the future with what they have coined ‘jamchronica.’ Their progressive style mixed with heavy synth effects produces epic, layered jams that any livetronica head is sure to be pulled into.” – HeadSpace Magazine
Third Nature is a very different animal today than it was ten years ago. With the recent integration of lead vocalist, Lilly-Anne Merat, the band’s unique blend of rock, house, hip-hop, and downtempo is bringing taste and originality to the world of live electronic music. Sultry melodies are paired with evocative harmonies over a pulsating rhythm that is guaranteed to get you out of your seat and onto the dancefloor.
Though a young band, Third Nature’s history runs deep. Their tradition is rooted in family, a love of life and a collective goal to create music that speaks from the heart and to the soul. Founding members Merrick Noyes (keyboards/vocals) Will Dowling (bass/vocals) and Tom Best (drums) began practicing and performing together as Third Nature in 2004, during their high school years in Connecticut. Through years of practice, sweaty collegiate basement parties and forays into the small festival circuit, they developed a more refined brand of live electronic music.
While in college, the band met vocalist Lilly-Anne and they knew something magical would come from their collaboration. After college, one year of post-graduation purgatory was enough to prompt a change of scene. The band set its sights on its new headquarters of Asheville, North Carolina in 2013. Since then, Lilly-Anne has become a more permanent fixture in the line-up, bringing a soulful lyricism to the band’s historically jam-oriented sound. The result is a sound that lies somewhere between a DJ set and an indie-rock show; equal parts danceable and listenable.
